I was looking through the garage the other day at my father’s place and stumbled upon my college papers–lots of terrible undergraduate prose, newsclippings and other such odds and ends. In one box was a pile of old University of Houston Daily Cougar’s. I’d written a twice-weekly op-ed during my senior year and one post-bacc semester. All of the op-eds were terrible, except this one, which I present to you. The obituary of one of my favorite poets, writers and drunks: Charles Bukowski. Happy reading.
