Jim Said:

how can I check my credit bureau info?

We Answered:

There are 3 agencies to check - Equifax, Trans Union & Experian.

Under the FACT Act amendments to the Fair Credit Reporting Act you are entitled to one free credit file disclosure in a 12 month period. To request this free annual disclosure you may contact the Central Source on-line at www.annualcreditreport.com. You can also contact the Central Source to request this free annual disclosure by calling toll free (877) FACTACT or by using the mail request form available at the central source website by going to www.annualcreditreport.com.

Mathew Said:

How can a credit bureau change info from each of my bankruptcy listings?

We Answered:

Would you like a quick answer?

Do you have a copy of any old credit report that shows these listings as "included in bankruptcy"?

Send them a copy, along with a copy of your new credit report. Include statements from your creditors that say they didn't do it.

Now enclose a copy of a filled-out small claims lawsuit for $1000, and tell them it will be filed in 14 days unless you are given a very good explanation of who and why your report got changed.

If no answer in 30 says, go ahead and file it. You will get a very easy $1000 for your troubles. Contact me for help if you need it.

Remember....certified letters are extremely important when dealing with creditors!

Allen Said:

can capital 1 continue reporting negative info to credit bureau from an acct that was DC CHPT BK in 2001.?

We Answered:

Without a lot more details it is difficult to answer this question. Generally the item will fall off your credit after 7 years. You say you had two Capital 1 accounts. The one that was bad and fell off your account, when was the last time that account had any activity on it? Generally, if it falls off the Credit Agency Report it will only be put back on if it is again reported to them by the original creditor. You may want to dispute it. GOOD LUCK

Bruce Said:

How do I get information put into the credit bureau?

We Answered:

You have sign up with equafax and become a member. You should not that mortgages are not report as of yet on your report.A note of caution,In a rent to own situation if the part of your rent is to be applied as a down payment,This portion must be refundable if you do not buy the property and the end of the term or it is not considered to be a deposit. No mortgage insurance agency will accept this unless it is refundable.
If you want to rebuild your credit get a couple of pre paid cards (capital one) and send them 1500.00$ and use the card to buy gas or something else small.Trya nd keep your balance near 0 as the more credit that you have available to you that you do not use the higher your score. You must have 2 trade lines for more than 2 years with a minimum of 1500.00$ limits and low balances. This will put you credit score above 650 and this willl allow you to get the best rates available at that time.always pay your cards on time and remember if paying over the net there is a 3 day lag time,so pay early.

Alicia Said:

if you request proof of the credit bureau's vertification, are they to provide the requested info?

We Answered:

Page 48 of the link below from the Fair Credit Reporting Act states they must provide the information you are asking for.
