Some good careers in the med field w/ freedom and good $?

We Answered:

Well, I'm a Licensed Nurse here in the State of California and was working towards my BSN here as well but realized very quickly, after only 3 years, that nursing isn't quite what most think it is.. Plus after working next to them and watching fellow nurses burn out and age an an accelerated rate I realized quickly healthcare IS where it's at just not necessarily the area I was in.....

I know a lot about this topic, I have a lot of good info for you. I came home in October of 2008 after 3 years of fulltime nursine, 12 hour 3rd shifts which is 7pm to 7am for those of who who are not familiar and now work from home fulltime.

Many people are looking for work from home companies. All the scams definitely create a big problem but also, there is a problem of people misunderstanding the difference between work from home "jobs" and work from home opportunities. There really is no such thing as a work from home “job”. To get that you have to start working for a company in their offices first, then they MAY allow you to take the job home and that’s only if you have special training such as in Website design, being an Attorney, Bookkeeper and the like.

Most of the work from home opportunities that are legitimate offers are not an hourly pay type job. They are business opportunities that help you in starting your own business from your home.

What you should do first is to decide if you are simply looking for an hourly rate type job or if you are looking for more of an opportunity for additional income such as what you would make in your own business being your own boss from home. Many say a JOB stands for Just Over Broker and I have found that to be true as well. I never got anywhere working for others.

Small home businesses have some small costs involved, less then $100 to start is reasonable and I would stay away from those wanting $300, $500 even some asking for $1000. It doesn’t cost that much to start and run a home business so you shouldn’t pay it. The real ones will have a small monthly overhead as well. Should be around $50 a month but no more then $75. And everything should be included from your web sites to training and team support to back office accounting and booking. It’s ok to pay this overhead because it’s a business, they cost money. It’s not reasonable to assume you can run a business from home with a website and more for free so do keep that in mind as you search.

If you are coming across places that say free then I would RUN don’t walk the other way! They never are. I tried them many a times and 3 weeks later I had to buy this and 6 weeks later that. After 6 months these “free businesses” had cost me over $800 on average.

I’m a stay at home wife and a licensed nurse here in the state of California. I work about 22-28 hours per week for a National Medical Benefits Company. This is a home business, a nationally known and reputable home business which is what you need to make sure you are looking for. I have been with the company almost a year now and I make over $2000 a month! In your first month, depending on how many hours you can work I have seen people make anywhere from $300 to over $2000. And your income will increase each month because we get paid residual income as well. If I continue on as I am going at the end of the year I will be making $5000 a month. My friend Rebecca from Hales Corners, Wisconsin started 2 years before me and she is now making $45,000 a year with her home business; $25,000 of that is residual income.

The best part is they have 401(k), direct deposit and a benefits package. In addition, there are no products, no hard selling or pushing, no cold calling, no home parties and no telemarketing! That was VERY important to me.

I absolutely love working with them and I can't believe I am making what I am making and in so few hours per week. The neat thing is there are other people on your team that you work with so you are never alone. You have great team support and you get to know the other people on your team pretty well. The support is great but I have made wonderful friends as well. I think that’s important too, especially being at home!

I was a bit apprehensive at first because I know a lot of companies are not legit but this company is the number one National Medical Benefits Company in the US. They are a member of the US Chamber of Commerce, The Consumer Health Alliance and the National Association of Dental Plans which is very impressive. Also they were featured in “The New York Times”, “Wall Street Journal” “Time Magazine” and the “American Medical Review” and the May issue of Parents Magazine. Even “60 Minutes” with Morley Safer did a big special on this home based business.

Even more then all this is they are accepted at over 100,000 retailers nation wide. These are fortune 500 companies like Sears, Target, Walgreens, CVS, Wal-mart, Publix and more. These companies would never work with a company that was any thing less then reputable. That made me feel very good about working with them knowing they were accepted at these stores that I frequent. Also now of course being with them I get the dental and vision benefits for free and I saved over $650 on my last visit to have labratory work done. That’s just a beautiful perk! : - )

When I first started I just felt very safe with them, that and my friend was already making so much money with Ameriplan. But at this point I feel a sense of security financially that our family has never had before. That plus LOVING what you do? What could be better?

Check them out! Just type in in your web browser.

Stanley Said:

What are the four important distinctives of free-enterprise economies?

We Answered:

Most free enterprise systems consist of four components: households, businesses, markets and governments.

Households—the Owners. In a free enterprise system, households—not the government—own most of the country’s economic resources and decide how to use them. One of the resources that households possess is their labor, which they sell to existing firms or use to form new businesses. In addition to selling their resources where they can get the highest price or largest profit, households also act as consumers. The wages and salaries of households purchase about two-thirds of all the production in the United States. Consumers vote with their dollars, thereby directing production toward the goods and services they want businesses to provide. This is called consumer sovereignty.

Businesses—the Organizers. Businesses organize economic resources to produce a good or service. The people who start businesses are called entrepreneurs. They are the organizers and innovators, constantly discovering new and better ways to bring resources together in the hopes of making a profit. Profit fuels the engine of business. Entrepreneurs, lured by the potential for profits, create new businesses to satisfy consumers’ needs and desires. The inability to make profits signals businesses to close or to reorganize their resources more efficiently. Efficiency means that resources are being used to produce the goods and services that society most desires at the lowest economic cost. In a competitive industry, the presence or absence of profits sends an important signal about the industry’s economic efficiency.

Markets—the Brokers. How and where do buying and selling activities take place? The answer is, in markets. Although markets are not necessarily people, they act as agents—something like a stockbroker or a real estate agent—to bring buyers and sellers together. Over time, markets have become increasingly complex. Now, buying and selling can occur 24 hours a day from anywhere in the world via the Internet. A market is any place or any way that buyers and sellers

can exchange goods, services, resources or money. There are three categories of markets in a free enterprise society: resource markets, product markets and financial markets. Households go through resource markets to sell their labor to businesses. Businesses go through product markets to sell goods and services to households. And both households and businesses use financial markets to borrow and save money. Typically, businesses borrow money that households save, using financial institutions as the intermediary.

Governments—the Protectors. The cornerstone of a truly free enterprise economy is the absence of government interference in economic matters. However, the government still plays an important role in any free enterprise system. This is because unlimited freedom is impossible: one person’s freedom may sometimes conflict with another’s. As Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas once put it, “My freedom to move my fist must be limited by the proximity of your chin.” The main role of government in a free society, then, is to define and enforce the rules of society. Government has the coercive power to maintain law and order, protect people’s right to own property and enforce voluntary contracts people enter into. In essence, government provides the umbrella under which the free enterprise system operates. Governments also provide goods, such as national defense, that the private market alone would have a hard time producing.

Free enterprise is the freedom of individuals and businesses to operate and compete with a minimum of government interference or regulation. It enables individuals and businesses to create, produce, transform, develop, innovate and compete in the marketplace. As they are able and willing, enterprising people produce goods and services for profit, offer their labor for wages and own the resources needed to produce and sell goods and services. In this system, no one forces people to be creative, productive or enterprising. Instead, they pursue what they believe to be best for them. By producing the goods and services that society values most highly, a free enterprise system results in the greatest efficiency, or lowest costs, of any economic system. It is the system most compatible with individual freedom and political democracy.

Free enterprise means men and women have the opportunity to own economic resources, such as land, minerals, manufacturing plants and computers, and to use those tools to create goods and services for sale.

What prompts people to take the financial and emotional risk of starting a business? The main motivator is the potential to earn a profit. People also go into business for personal reasons, such as the desire for independence and the drive to be creative.

Others have no intention of starting a business. If they choose, they can offer their labor, another economic resource, for wages and salaries. The key to free enterprise is that all these people, whether they start a business of their own or work for someone else, do so voluntarily. By allowing people to pursue their own interests, a free enterprise system can produce phenomenal results. Running shoes, walking shoes, mint toothpaste, gel toothpaste, skim milk, chocolate milk, cellular phones and BlackBerrys are just a few of the millions of products created as a result of economic freedom.

In a free enterprise system, entrepreneurs, or risk-takers, have a strong incentive to pay attention to the votes consumers register with their dollars. This is because entrepreneurs profit by meeting consumers’ wants and needs. Entrepreneurs continually strive to improve established products and discover new ones. In the end, both the producers and the consumers benefit. Producers can earn a profit, and consumers can obtain the goods and services they want.

Free markets do not cater solely to the majority. They also provide products and services that appeal to individual tastes. Societies in which one group of leaders makes all the economic decisions probably do not produce the things that groups with special interests would like to have. For example, it is doubtful that one central authority would think to produce both rap music and classical music, Super Mario Brothers and Trivial Pursuit, pizza and sushi, and Bran Flakes and Cap’n Crunch. But free markets provide all these things and much, much more. Free markets provide a vehicle for serving the individual needs of an entire spectrum of interests, whether they represent the majority or only a small percentage of people.

Adam Smith, in The Wealth of Nations, showed us more than 200 years ago that people pursuing their own self-interests in a free enterprise economy, as if led by some “invisible hand,” end up promoting the public interest. But with all these people looking out for themselves, how does free enterprise result in such beneficial outcomes for society? That’s where competition enters the picture. For example, when computers first came on the market, they had great value but were extremely costly to produce. Relatively few businesses could afford them. But the lure of profits prompted other companies to start producing computers. This added competition had two results. It prompted computer companies to cut costs in order to compete, and it led them to look harder and faster for innovations that could give their computers an edge over the others. Now, computers are much less expensive, more powerful and much more userfriendly than they used to be. Competition and the lure of profits, combined with ingenuity, continue to drive the market forward.

The benefits of competition and free enterprise are not limited to one country. If free enterprise between people in Texas and California makes those individuals better off, then free enterprise between people in Texas and Mexico must make those individuals better off as well. The larger the marketplace, the greater the choice available and the greater the competition. Competition results in greater efficiency and lower prices, whether it be between two companies in the same country or two companies on opposite sides of the globe.

Do we live with the illusion of Freedom, because we want to or because we have to?

We Answered:

the illusion of freedom, for the writer above, is everywhere in american society.
No real freedom to :
can't unless:
they have 100 million dollars to run for office
have the support of the real power brokers-
big oil
weapons manufacturers
big business
lobbyists and large 'donations'
must be a democrat or republican to have a chance
must say they are christian and 'for the troops' , etc. or no chance...
try to get in to see your senator once unless you did the 10,000 dollar a plate fund raiser.
3. protection under the law- all are created equal? YOu want to be legally reepresented by a 'public defender' who makes 60, 000 a year or a private attorney who makes 500,000?
Which can you afford and which one defends you better?
4. Am I free to own without excessive taxation on my house ( or lose it) , the gas I buy as a hidden tax, etc.
5. free to drive with auto insurance ( or in this state go to jail) yes , jail if license suspended........
6. 'free' to live in a 'peaceful' world we influence to fear and hate to sell more weapons and influence.
7. 'free' to breathe smog choked air and have no say in cleaner air?
8. 'free' to be denied healthcare to the poor if no health insurnace , EVEN in emergency centers they are cast aside and rejected in crisis.
9. 'free' to get the same exact news stories from the major network talking heads as the real news in the rest of the world is ignored...........
10. 'free' to work 2 jobs and wife work full time as kids are neglected while believing they are living the american dream and lied to by media influence drivel such as "there is no inflation' lies to public as housing, gas, health care , health insurance, food, cars, etc at record costs........
"gee they tell me there's no inflation , so it must be true...

I`m starting own business (project), and i got good job position chance at big firm at the same time!?

We Answered:

Being married and in business is a three legged race. If your spouse is not totally on board with you then you might as well forget it. She will tolerate you doing your business as long as you bring home the bacon!

Remember, she did not marry you to take chances with HER life, and have to consider HER security first - or trust me, she will make your life a living hell!

Go for the position, get your security, make her happy. Use your spare time to write up what redundant tasks need to be done and hire a motivated grad student to come in part time and knock down the recurring pile of work that needs to be done. Schedule time with your wife (dinner, trips, shopping) - stuff that she likes to do. Women who marry successful men aren't into "sacrifice" so don't make her do that WITH you. You make you money and sacrifice by figuring out how to give her the quality of life SHE wants so she will give you the greenlight to have the freedom to use the REST of your free time to make you both rich!

To do it any other way is like living the script of a bad slacker B movie - only in real life. That will wear out quickly with her, if it hasn't already.

I went out and bought mine a Jag (used, but a nice XJ6 is a sexy jade green color). I paid $7k for it; no payments. She had a blast taking her friends to lunch! I bought a small property in Reno for romantic getaways. You can get great prime rib for under $15 when there. Shows are cheap, as are plane tix to get there. I throw her in a spa at a Casino and that's her reward for letting me be an entrepreneur. I view these expenses as an investment.

They actually are as I set up a NV corp and my address is the property and I put a nice spript lettering ad on her car and all of it is a write off!

Robert Kiyosaki's "Rich Dad" said their are three levels you go through: 1. Securty; 2. Comfort; 3. Rich.

Your wife picked you for security and comfort. Rich is a bonus. I never let my woman know how bad or how well I am doing in business: why should I, lie is full of ups and downs, and why have her stressing out too? What I do is set aside some money I make and when it gets to a certain point I'll take her to Kaui for 3 days - we don't pack, just get on a plane and go. Or I reserve one of those cool helicopeter tours with dinner, or a carriage ride or a short boat cruise. Something that will knock her socks off and have her bragging to all her friends who get jealous because their deadbeat guys don't pamper them.

What I am saying is I am very careful to include her in my personal business plan. I see her as my key to success. I let the world know she is by the trappings that are accepted as successful. No, that ain't bling! But it is things that people can see I am running a successful business - which allows me to charge my clients a respectable fee!

People don't have to know what's really going on - as long as you look the part AND you can back it up with production. I drive a 15 year old BMW 740iL. It cost $5k and I keep it in good repair. I have friends that are in debt up to their eyballs with a new 745. I've used the DIFFERNCE to expand my businss operations and broker several strategic partnership deals that are starting to pay off as multiple streams of income. But last year all I was being asked was when am I going to flip out of my war horse? Now, no one can afford the gas but me!

If your project cannot pay you NOW for the 12 hours/day you have to put in, then go make your money somewhere else and hire someone to market to get customers for you - then hire someone else to do the work to produce the product for you. That way, the less work you do, the more money you make; which is as it should be: you get a PROFIT off of your staff's efforts - it should be 5x what you pay them. So the more people you can hire, the better it is...

Thank god you HAVE an option! You could be in the RE, mortgage, atuo, contractor, retail, advertising, computer, etc. business - and REALLY be in trouble!

Lydia Said:

I am in such a fix, cant choose which business to pursue?

We Answered:

I suggest that you get into managing your father's business for now, with the idea of bringing someone new into the office with the the potential of eventually having that new person handle the day-to-day activities, which will free you up to pursue your own plans. You have a moral responsibility to your mother, and unless by some magic a buyer comes along with enough money to buy out that business and leave enough funds for her care and comfort, it really needs to be handled as an ongoing business. (It will also be worth more on the market if it is a going concern!) One thing you absolutely must do is to meet with the business financial advisors, and the attorneys to see where the ownership of the business is! The who-owns-what will make a huge difference, and it sounds as though you really do need more information. My personal approach would be one of caution, knowing that father's business is a "bird in the hand" for both me and mother, but with the idea of re-structuring to gain the freedom to go my own way, too. Best of luck! Your Ad Here
